EVEN the most successful among us can feel the pain of growing up in a broken family, as actress Janna Nick (pic) recounted recently.
Her parents split up when she was nine and she went to live with her grandmother, Kosmo! reported.
“I ‘grew up’ with friends. Sometimes, people see me as an extrovert, but I am just doing that as a way to humour myself,” said Janna, 27.
She defended her parents as well, saying that they did not neglect their parental duties.
But it was just that she got used to being independent since her younger days, she said.
In a Twitter post, she said that being an extrovert was her way of dealing with loneliness after her parents’ divorce.
> A 28-year-old man in Jertih, Terengganu, choked to death while consuming a bowl of mutton bone soup, Harian Metro reported.
His sister Wan Suria Wan Ishak said that the deceased Wan Azlan had come home from work on Thursday evening and went straight to the kitchen to heat up the soup.
Ironically, she said that Wan Azlan had never eaten such a dish as he preferred chicken.
“And he wouldn’t eat fish as he was traumatised from a previous incident of choking on fish bone,” said Wan Suria, 32.
She said Wan Azlan could have been hungry that day and just swallowed the meat which was quite tough.
Soon, he had difficulty breathing and struggling, saying he needed help. Wan Suria said she tried to help him but to no avail.
She said her family was saddened by the death of the brother, who had bought a new Proton Persona two months ago.
