PETALING JAYA: Job seekers who are driven and open to learning are among the qualities being emphasised by employers at myStarJob Fair.
Uniqbe (M) Sdn Bhd admin and human resource manager Tan Siew Peng said the company, which specialises in trading and wholesale of tech products, requires people who are willing to learn.
“This is our main focus when we look for talents. We are also focused on grooming and growing employees internally,” she said.
She said talents with skills related to electronics and Internet of Things (IoT) products are among their top priority.
“In the future, these are the products that people will demand for a lot, so we need talents in this pool, as well as those who can sell the products,” she said.
The company has about 20 vacancies, including positions related to product executive, logistics, finance and IT.
Shopper360 Sdn Bhd executive director James Ling said the homegrown company with 25 years of experience caters to a broad range of shopper marketing services and needs talents who can adapt to changes.
“We do everything from digital advertising, sales distribution to digital creative advertising management where we make the client’s products look good on the shelf, create quality display for products, and do recruitment and provide manpower services for retail and consumer brands,” he said.
Thus, he said they are in need of driven and motivated individuals.
“These talents need to be able to adapt to changes as we are a dynamic kind of business,” he said.
The company is offering positions ranging from internship to management trainees, project team members, human resource, finance, software development, recruiters, and sales and development.
“Our clients require us to be very creative and to execute with excellence. So, these are the key things we look for in future and new team members who work with us,” added Ling.
Robert Bosch Sdn Bhd human resource business partner Sharifah Annis Diana Tuan Muda said the company is searching for candidates with a good attitude and can communicate well.
“We are looking for candidates who have an engineering-based background, especially related to software,” she said.
“As Bosch encourages people to move around within the company when they want new opportunities, they need to be flexible, mobile and agile to move to different functions.”
She said the company has over 100 vacancies in Malaysia, with most of them located in Penang.
Consulting agency Agensi Pekerjaan Find Talent Sdn Bhd (FIND) managing director Ng Khai Hann said the company, which is involved in the human resource industry, helps match candidates with the right jobs through career consultations and creating free resumes.
He advised job seekers to be open to various kind of job opportunities that they are presented with.
“If you see that there is an opportunity and there is a good match, go for it and experience it,” he said.

Most of them voted for company culture, work-life balance, followed by salary and benefits, as well as career progression.
Two aspects with the least number of votes were job scope and location.
