PETALING JAYA: Malaysia recorded 609 new Covid-19 infections on Sunday (Dec 25), says the Health Ministry.
The Health Ministry said through data released on its KKMNow portal on Monday (Dec 26) that this brings the new total to 5,023,519 cases since the pandemic began.
Of the 609, two are imported cases while the remaining 607 are local.
The ministry also said through its KKMNow portal that there were 737 recoveries on Sunday bringing the total number of active cases in Malaysia to 13,997.
Of the active cases, 94.5% or 13,229 individuals are undergoing home quarantine, while 725 or 5.2% of active cases need to be hospitalised, with 43 warded in intensive care units (ICU) throughout the country.
Of that number, 19 require ventilator support.
