PETALING JAYA: Malaysia recorded 3,304 new Covid-19 infections on Wednesday (Nov 16), says the Health Ministry.
The Health Ministry said through data released on its KKMNow portal on Thursday (Nov 17) that this brings the new total to 4,956,722 cases since the pandemic began.
Of the 3,304, four are imported cases while 3,300 are local.
The ministry also said through its KKMNow portal that there were 3,045 recoveries on Wednesday, bringing the total number of active cases in Malaysia to 28,165.
Of the active cases, 92.8% or 26,130 individuals are undergoing home quarantine, while 6.9% of active cases or 1,945 individuals need to be hospitalised, with 90 warded in intensive care units (ICU) throughout the country.
Of that number, 49 require ventilator support.
