Win-Win Cooperation and Moving Forward Together: The 'Colorful Yunnan · Charming Malaysia' Cultural and Tourism Promotion Exchange Event Held Successfully in Kuala Lumpur

To strengthen exchanges between Yunnan and Southeast Asian markets to promote the tourism industries of Yunnan and Malaysia deeper. The Yunnan Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism successfully held the “Colorful Yunnan · Charming Malaysia” Cultural and Tourism Promotion Exchange Event in Kuala Lumpur on November 28, 2024. This event joined with the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Malaysia, aiming further expansions on Malaysia’s inbound tourism market, accelerating the recovery of Yunnan’s inbound tourism and a grand-opening on the new chapter in bilateral tourism.

Representatives from Yunnan’s inbound travel agencies, members of the Malaysian Chinese Tourism Association, the Malaysian Association of Tour & Travel Agents, the Malaysia Inbound Chinese Association, and over 40 well-known travel agencies from Malaysia were all invited to the event.

The event featured a series of activities, including cultural and tourism presentations, distributions of promotional materials, screenings of Yunnan cultural and tourism promotional videos, quizzes with prizes, photo exhibitions, displays of ethnic minority cultures, and a B2B conference. These activities fully showcased Yunnan’s rich cultural tourism resources, helping attendees with a better understanding on the unique charm of Yunnan and experience the “Yunnan: A Many-Splendored Life”.

This event further strengthens mutual understanding between Yunnan and Kuala Lumpur, promoting the exchange and cooperation on culture and tourism. Leveraging visa-free policies and the ASEAN market, Yunnan will work with the Malaysian tourism industry to build cross-border tourism brands and promote market prosperity. With both sides pushing efforts on the development of cultural tourism in Yunnan and Malaysia will yield to delightful results.
