PETALING JAYA: Malaysia recorded 4,621 new Covid-19 infections on Saturday (Nov 5), says the Health Ministry.
The Health Ministry said through data released on its KKMNow portal on Sunday (Nov 6) that this brings the new total to 4,923,538 cases since the pandemic began.
Of the 4,621, two are imported cases while 4,619 are local.
The ministry also said through its KKMNow portal that there were 3,577 recoveries on Saturday, bringing the total number of active cases in Malaysia to 36,582.
Of the active cases, 95.4% or 34,907 individuals are undergoing home quarantine, while 4.4% of active cases or 1,605 individuals need to be hospitalised, with 70 warded in intensive care units (ICU) throughout the country.
Of that number, 50 require ventilator support.
